I heard a bird sing...

'Sing for Joy' - Donna Carlisle Noice

I Heard A Bird Sing

In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.
'We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,'
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.

Oliver Herford

  3. Actually I don't mind winter at all apart from the short daylight hours and I just thought the poem was sweet. I'm a wiinter baby being born in January which can be a harsh month but I don't like really like very hot weather. What I really love is having definite seasons that drive us to change our habits and activities - I think the body and soul needs variety, mine certainly does.

  4. Lesley, your bird is magical with its bold colors on the foggy background.
I love both - the bird (I am a big birdlovergirl ♥) and the beautiful poem.

Thank you also for stopping by and commenting on my blog.

  5. Lesley, The painting is beautiful and the poem spoke to my heart. Thank you for sharing and I agree with you about seasons. I have always liked the saying "Variety is the spice of life!"
and I live my life that way. Truth be told I get bored easily so I crave variety! :-)
