Welcome to the Art Bead Earring Swap hosted by Diand Ptaszynski of Suburban Girl Studio. A while back, Diana put all the participants for this swap into groups of three with the aim that we each made a pair of earrings for our two team mates, in my case Jan Onipenco of Molten Mayhem and Tania Spivey of Moobie Grace Designs. To give these ladies a starting point I suggested 'gardens' as a theme for the earrings they were making me and boy, have they cultivated some beauties...
First up are these gorgeous creations from Jan...
Jan has made the most divine lilac and teal swirled lampwork beads which she's set on silver headpins with silver caps and tiny green accent beads.
These are suspended from beautifully coiled copper tendrils and oh so pretty resin and brass flower heads, all on silver wires. I love the soft purples and greens of these earrings and they remind me of a passion vine that sits just outside my patio window in the summer - perfect!
Then we have the earrings Tania made for me...
Sadly, despite being posted in plenty of time the postal service has let us down and these have not yet arrived. Fortunately Tania took some photos herself which she has been able to send me but I know she is very disappointed that the surprise may have been spoilt for me. Well all I can say is having seen these pictures I'm very excited and the fact that I know they're coming won't diminish that in the least! So here they are...
Aren't they stunning...? Tania made the Polymer Clay drops herself along with the copper headpins and silver ear wires.
The drops are accented to perfection by clusters of the prettiest little shell and glass bead dangles. I love the combination of the vibrant colours and the soft peachy pink tones of the shells.
I can't wait for these to arrive and I know they're going to be even better in the flesh. Jan and Tania - thank you very much for my earrings both sets are bloomin' marvellous!
Thank you very much for stopping by - you can see the earrings I created for Jan and Tania here:

You hit paydirt, Lesley!!! I am having a hard time deciding which part of Jan's earrings I like the best - the wire work or the beads! Truly a garden for your ears! And, I have seen Tania's craft in person - her polymer clay creations are absolutely stunning! Lucky girl you are!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Great idea giving each person a theme. I think they both hit "garden" on the head.
ReplyDeleteOOooo! They are gorgeous! I especially love the pair Tania sent, the colors are my fav! Hopefully you will receive them soon. Love the wirework in the pair by Jan! Love the garden theme!
ReplyDeleteLesley - sorry the Royal Mail let you down! Thanks for sharing Tania's pix tho! You have received very blossoming floral pieces? Is your garden flowering? The colors are lush, and the earrings are festive!
ReplyDeleteWow! They are both really cool earrings! I'm so sorry the post service can't seem to handle the simple act of transporting a package from point A to point B in a reasonable amount of time. When they do arrive you'll be a very lucky woman! And thanks for participating in the swap!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic - I bet you can't wait for the second pair to drop through your door! My second pair only arrived today too, I had to pay import tax on them, but they are so worth it! :)
ReplyDeleteBoth pair are beautiful! Love the garden theme of each. Both the lampwork beads that Jan made and the polymer clay drops Tania made are stunning!
ReplyDeleteBoth pairs are beautiful and feminine!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great earrings! I love the very romantic and flowy feel that each has. Both feel like a garden party. Very pretty indeed! Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteWoah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this site. It's
ReplyDeletesimplе, yet еffectіve. A lot of times it's very hard to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and appearance. I must say that you've done a fantastiс job with this.
